Nic found Annan Water in Vol IV of Child's English And Scottish Popular Ballads, as an appendix to Rare Willie Drowned In Yarrow (Child #215) covered by June Tabor on An Echo Of Hooves ('03). Jones used the tune of The Brisk Young Lively Lad.
