With Ed Geoghegan on piano. Reel dedicated to Sir Alexander MacDonald, the 9th Baronet of Sleat, a friend of Samuel Johnson and James Boswell. The oldest version salvaged was on board the polar expedition of Admiral Perry in 1819. A barrel organ instead of a fiddler meant one less mouth to feed.

Covers:

1961:

Alan Mills & Jean Carignan

1962:

Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs [as Leather Britches; that's how dried green beans were named in pre canning jars and freezer days in Appalachia]
