On lp Chemins de Terre; means farewell in Breton. Full title Kimiad ar soudard yaouank means L'Adieu du jeune soldat and was first published in 1838, to the air Al Labourer and described as "danse du Trégor" (Breton region of the Côtes d'Armor). In his Recueil de chants populaires bretons du Pays de Cornouaille, H. Guillerm collected the song in 1905 with Perrine Olivier in Trégunc (Finistère). Early recordings (Frères Morvan, Soeurs Goadeg) hardly match with Stivell's arrangement.
